OTTO DIY V2 KOREAN STYLE KIT for Sanwa JLF / JLX / Hori Hayabusa Joystick

The OTTO DIY V2 kit is one of the best upgrades we can make to our Sanwa JLF and Hori Hayabusa joysticks. The Otto DIY V2 kit upgrades key parts of the Sanwa JLF joystick to simulate the feel of a Korean joystick. Once you install the OTTO KIT you will notice the difference immediately.

This KIT is super easy to install and from our point of view, a great modification that greatly improves the joystick. This product is oriented for users who like to mod their joysticks and customize arcade parts.

The Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick has long been considered the standard in fighting games. The goal of this kit is to simulate the feel of a Korean-style joystick, and the OTTO DIY V2 KIT achieves this.

The components of the OTTO DIY V2 Kit have been manufactured from polytetrafluoroethylene. This material significantly reduces friction between the components that must interact with each other. For example, the pivot and pivot core of the OTTO DIY V2 kit will hardly need any greasing, making the joystick's directional control very smooth.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This KIT is intended to be installed on the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT model (not recommended for silent versions) or Hori Hayabusa joysticks (not optical silent either).

What is included in the KIT?

• Modular body - The OTTO DIY V2 modular body replaces the existing body found on the stock lever of the Sanwa JLF joystick, which is used for both V2 (Korean style) and V5 (JLF upgrade) kits.

• Set of screws and nuts: the gold plated screws replace the existing screws used to mount the Sanwa P-1 board or the Hayabusa board. To install the screws, we will need a 2mm hex wrench.
  
  
• Tension grommets and coil - These two items represent the unique look of Korean levers, which use a silicone rubber tension grommet instead of a spring. The user will receive two tensions - 40 Shore A and 60 Shore A - with the kit.
  
  
• Grommet core and cap - The grommet core is made of a soft Teflon material and connects to the modular body. The cap sits over the core, grommet and spool, helping to hold everything together.
  
  
• 12mm, 12.5mm and 13mm actuators - The actuator is used to actuate each plunger of the microswitch, with the 12.5mm and 13mm actuator designed to shorten the distance between the actuator and plunger and speed up actuation.
  
  
• OTTO stability spring - while the V2 kit uses a rubber tension, the additional spring adds some balance for a lever that normally relies on a spring.
  
  
• FD Replacement Square Restrictor - This replacement square restrictor has a rounded area around the corners, allowing the top of the actuator to sit comfortably while still defining its corner.
  
  
• BYD Rounded Restrictor - Those desiring an octagonal restrictor may find this to be a worthwhile alternative. The restrictor increases the rounded edges around the corners, producing a more circular feel during play.
