American style Arcade Joystick

The American Style joystick also has the option of being configured in 4 and 8-way mode. These are very practical features in case you want to enjoy games such as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and Pengo, etc, without losing an ounce of precision. 

To change the mode between 4 and 8 way, you'll need to take apart the joystick and look at the last piece of the bat starting from the base. This piece consists of a wide part at one end and a narrower part at the other end of the piece. In order for the joystick to work in 8-way mode, the widest part has to touch the microswitches, otherwise would set the joystick to 4-way mode.

This joystick is very similar to the ones that were installed by default in the Video Sonic Arcade Cabinets in Europe, among others. These are, Non-dedicated Arcade machines you would have found at neighbouring pool halls and bars in the early 1990s.

The American-style joystick can be installed on both wood and metal panels. Available in standard sizes, the micros used are of 4.8mm wide and are 100% compatible with the Zero Delay, Xin Mo 2, IPAC2, and other Arcade to PC interfaces. 

The joystick's bat handle is made of metal but has a small black plastic protector that gives it a certain elegance and uniformity. The rest of the joystick is made using PVC.
