Crown CWL-309MJ-BENYLIS-ST35 Arcade Joystick

The Samducksa Crown CWL-309MJ-BENYLIS-ST35 Korean arcade joystick is a joystick designed in collaboration between Korean Tekken player Kim Byung-moon, known as "Benylis", and joystick manufacturing company Samducksa. This joystick is based on Samducksa's CWL-309 MJ model assembled with Starion microswitches (SZM-V16-2FA-83).

The collaboration between Benylis and Samducksa focused on creating a joystick that could provide a more accurate and responsive gaming experience for players of Tekken and other fighting games. Benylis, who is known for his expertise in Tekken, was able to provide a unique perspective on what was needed for a joystick that could improve player performance. The result was the Korean Samducksa Crown CWL-309MJ-BENYLIS-ST35 arcade joystick, which features a customizable spring tension system and a high-quality microswitch that is activated with minimal joystick movement, ensuring fast and highly accurate in-game response.

The CWL-309MJ-BENYLIS-ST35 joystick has an ST-35 blue silicone rubber inner tension inside the joystick and a thinner 303 actuator for easier diagonals.

The CWL-309MJ-BENYLIS-ST35 also has a different microswitch than the other Samducksa joysticks, in this case the Starion SZM-V16-2FA-83 microswitches. These microswitches are activated with minimal movement of the joystick. This ensures that the response during play is accurate and agile.

On the Crown CWL-309MJ-BENYLIS-ST35 joystick, the Starion SZM-V16-2FA-83 swtiches have been preferred over the more common GSM-V1623A2 or GSM-V1623A3. Enthusiasts in the Korean arcade community claim that this microswitch has similar general characteristics to the Omron V and A3 microswitches, although it is priced at a lower price tag.

Samducksa joysticks use a high density silicone rubber ring to quickly return the joystick lever to the center. They are specially designed for 3D fighting games and are used in many professional tournaments, especially Tekken tournaments. The ST variant uses a white silicone rubber tensioning system with a shore A rating of 35. The advantage of using a rubber tension is a faster return to neutral, which is perfect for 3D games like Tekken 7 and the like, where a wavy and consistent movement is required.

CAUTION:

This joystick is NOT compatible with the Sanwa JLF mounting plate.

This version has been made in collaboration with Korean joystick modder "Benylis".

The Crown CWL-309MJ joystick features four Starion SZM-V16-2FA-83 (4.8 mm) microswitches.
