Pandora Box CX - 2800 in 1 Multigames Family Home Edition

The magnificent Pandora Box CX Family Home Edition 2800 in 1, has very similar features to the Pandora BOX DX. In fact, we could say that the Pandora Box CX is a Lite version of the Pandora Box DX. This pandora has the same features and configuration options as the Pandora Box DX except that the list of games is 2800 instead of 2992, and that the CPU is a Quad-core Arm Cortex A7 1.5GHz instead of a Quad-core Arm Cortex A7 1.9GHz. Otherwise, they are pretty similar.

The Pandora Box CX Family Home Edition 2800 in 1, is intended to be used in a similar way to a Raspberry Pi but already configured and with all the built-in games included. This multigame board has 2800 horizontal Arcade games. Amongs them there are classic console games. The Pandora Box CX - 2800 in 1 Multigames Jamma PCB has games from the Super Nintendo, SEGA Megadrive, Playstation 1, Super Famicom, Nintendo, Famicom, FBA and MAME. In addition, we can manually add our own games, although to do so we will have to open the Pandora, thus losing the warranty in case of failure.

The Pandora Box CX 2800 Family Home Edition supports VGA video output at 640x480 and HDMI at 1280x720 resolution. The board has 1 GPIO connector, 1 x VGA and 1 x HDMI video output connector. This versatile Multi-Game board can be installed directly into an Arcade cabinet, Bartop or similar project that has a VGA or HD monitor.

Another interesting new feature of this Multigames board is the possibility of setting the language in Spanish and not only in English or Chinese. In addition, the board has a TIMER function in case we want to activate games by time and not only by inserted credit. One of the features that we liked the most is that this Pandora saves our HIGHSCORE. Something not seen in many other Multigame boards.  

This Pandora CX will also save the progression of the games automatically and will allow us to restore the game at any time. 

This Pandora has an "image enhancement" option that can be activated or deactivated in the configuration menu. This option basically adds a smoothing filter to the graphics of the games and blurs the pixels. Another feature of this board is that it has also added the option to activate Scanlines kind of like an old CRT TV, giving us a more retro feeling if possible, when playing our great classics.

As for the board's performance, we hardly noticed any LAG or Tearing in any of the games we tested, nor poor sound. Despite having a lower CPU than the Pandora DX, the Pandora CX is very well optimized and the games run great!

We can also customize our controllers and the option to organize the list of games by genre: fighting, puzzle, action, sports, etc... or in alphabetical order. Another feature we can find in this board is that it has the PAUSE function also in Arcade games. Difficulty, number of lives as well as editing the list of games and hiding the games that we do not want to appear in the gamelist if fully configurable.

Regarding the sound, it is worth mentioning that an internal stereo sound amplifier is integrated in the PCB, so all we have to do is connect a mini-jack cable to the Jack output of the PCB.

NOTE: This cable does not have connectors for American Happ faston type joysticks, IL or similar. It only has cable connections for 5-pin connector joysticks such as Sanwa, Semitsu and similar asian brands.
