UMSA Adapter to convert 15Khz VGA signal to 15Khz SCART. An alternative to the Arcade VGA-SCART cable.
Arcade Express is proud to be the official distributor in Spain of ArcadeForge.net. That is why we always try to bring the most innovative items that unite the retro and old arcade world with current technology.
The UMSA video adapter will let us connect VGA video input at 15Khz and convert it to SCART 15Khz video output. Basically, this is an alternative to the ArcadeVGA cables. This cable connects to the VGA output of an ArcadeVGA graphics card and then to the Euroconnector / SCART input of a TV allowing you to display the image at 15Khz.
The UMSA adapter allows you to connect your computer / pc / raspberry Pi to a CRT television through the SCART RGB connector. It converts the 15Khz RGBHV signal from the 15-pin VGA connector to RGBS 15Khz signal from the SCART connector.
For the Arcadeforge UMSA adapter to work properly you will need a 5V power supply with an amperage of at least 250mA. This voltage is necessary so that when you turn on the TV it automatically switches to the AV / RGB channel without the need for a remote control. This voltage is also necessary for the SYNC signal to work properly.
Thanks to the UMSA adapter you can get the AUDIO from 2 x Stereo RCA connectors and connect it to speakers or if you prefer, you can also choose to have the sound output directly through the SCART connector and listen to it on your CRT TV.
Another interesting feature offered by the UMSA 15Khz adapter is that it generates the Composite Video Sync signal without any kind of interference or noise, in addition to enjoying greater compatibility with a multitude of graphics cards. This is thanks to the use of a Logic chip integrated into the circuit board.
As some video signals need Positive Sync and others prefer Negative Sync, the UMSA Adapter offers the possibility to switch between Positive and Negative Sync through the Jumpers located on the board itself.
